Size the machine to the job, not to the budget. Undersized breakers & hammers costs more in the end, because the hire runs longer and the operator works harder for the same result.
The main classes here are air breaker, chipping hammer, heavy breaker, hydraulic breaker attachment, light demolition hammer. Work out which class you are in first, then compare suppliers inside it - comparing across classes on price alone is how the wrong machine ends up on site.
Ask for the day, week and four-week price together - the longer rate is usually where the saving is. Anything over four or five days is usually cheaper on the weekly rate, and our quotes work that out for you rather than multiplying days.
Most of this class can be run without a formal ticket, but read the machine notes: site rules and insurers often ask for more than the law does.
How much does it cost to hire breakers & hammers?
It depends on the size of the machine and how long you need it. Pick your dates on this page and each supplier shows the all-in price for exactly those days, including delivery and any fees, before you commit to anything.
How far ahead do I need to book?
We need 24 hours notice, and popular sizes go early in busy weeks. Booking two or three days out gives you the most choice of supplier.
Is delivery included?
Delivery and collection are priced separately by each supplier and shown in your quote before you pay. Where a machine can be collected from the yard, pickup is free.
Do I need a licence to operate breakers & hammers?
Generally no formal ticket is needed, but check the listing: the supplier notes any training or certification they require before releasing the machine.
What happens if I need it for longer?
Tell the supplier before your off-hire date and they extend the booking at the same rate. If the extension crosses into a weekly or four-week band, the cheaper band applies.
What if the machine breaks down?
Mechanical failure that is not your doing is the supplier’s to fix. Contact them through the booking and they will repair or swap the unit; you are not charged for the downtime.
